G’day - I’m Jess, Founder of Batt Bin

I’m a mum of two little ones under five, and I’m also a paramedic. So I know just how dangerous button batteries can be for children if ingested. That’s what inspired me to create Batt Bin — a simple, sustainable solution to reduce the risk of battery ingestion while also making recycling easy for families.

For me, Batt Bin is about more than just safe storage. Every year, hundreds of children are rushed to emergency after swallowing a button battery, and at the same time, millions of used batteries are end up in landfill, leaching harmful chemicals into the environment and causing fires. I wanted to create something that helped tackle both problems at once.

As a parent, I know how important peace of mind is — and as someone passionate about sustainability, I believe small changes in our homes can make a big difference for the planet. Batt Bin brings those two values together: protecting kids, and protecting our environment.
